John Mark McMillan and his wife, Sarah recently collaborated on their first joint project, co-writing and releasing an EP entitled You Are The Avalanche. This release is both intimate and anthemic as the McMillans explore beauty in the mundane and glory in the midst of pain and chaos. With songs that are singable and searching, You Are The Avalanche speaks to the Maker's deep goodness that often hides within the day to day. The EP debuted at #1 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart and the songs are being sung by communities around the world.
Sarah shares that the song "Glorious Things" was inspired by Psalm 102:18 which states, "This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord." The song testifies to God's glory, singing of His goodness today and passing on His truths to future generations. It praises, "Glorious things are spoken of You, Glorious things too great to tell. Glorious things are spoken of You, You make everything beautiful and glorious." "How beautiful that what we say, sing, write, and live in our brief existence on this earth may go on beyond us to future generations yet to be born," Sarah writes, "and that they may also see His goodness and sing of His glories."
"The Goodness" explores the fellowship we have with God, recognizing that at the end of everything, He is good and His goodness is sufficient. The song is atmospheric and full of intimacy, declaring that everything we have ever wanted is found in Him, "When the day has run its course, You are the goodness. You are my reward, You are the goodness." "King of My Heart" is a gorgeous anthem that offers our devotion and gives a powerful proclamation of God's goodness and faithfulness. The song is moving and congregational, repeating the praise, "You are good, good, oh," and emphasizing the fact that God's goodness is a constant and He will never let us go.
Worshippers will love the style and sincerity of these songs. We encourage you to download a copy of this EP, now available on iTunes.
