Angelique Marketon's newest single, "You Are My Light," came after a time when Angelique and her husband Tony were reading Psalm 27 together one morning and as soon as he started reading verse 4: “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”
Angelique said, "This needs to be a song!" She felt the depth of the words and wanted to be in that moment with God. What Angelique and Tony didn't know is that this song and this verse would become a lifeline of truth for them as soon after, in October of 2018, their son Isaiah was killed in a car crash suddenly. The song was in production at that point and was being mixed and mastered as they were preparing Isaiah's funeral. The words and truths in this song are so fitting for the Marketon family in this incredibly difficult season. "Without God, there is no way to get through this kind of pain," Angelique shares. "Psalm 27 and "You Are My Light" have been powerful tools of reminder to see the light in the darkest of times, and our prayer is that this song would help others see the same hope in God in times of difficulty and pain."
