In 2 Chronicles 20, Judah’s king, Jehoshaphat, gets word that an army of their enemies is on its way to attack. As the commander in chief, he would have had the military prowess and authority to place the very best fighters at the head of the battalion to give them a strong upper hand, but instead, Jehoshaphat devises a surprising battle plan… He chooses a group of worshippers to put on the frontlines of this fight, the singers, rather than the sword fighters. And scripture records that “22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.”
What’s your response when you’re facing a seemingly hopeless situation? When you’re staring at a giant aiming to intimidate you? We’ve got it on good authority that praise is a powerful weapon; it’s your counter-attack to whatever the enemy is trying to bring against you. Are you battling anxiety right now? Choose to worship your way through it. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Choose worship. Whatever you’re up against, believe that it’s no match for Jesus. He’s never lost a battle and He’s not gonna start with yours. So, be confident today that you’re worshiping from a place of victory. The battle might not be over this week, or this month, but as you choose praise over fear, you can be certain God’s got the end already worked out - and it’s in your favor.
