"Nearer to You" is the new single from Citylovemusic, a new worship duo that consists of brother and sister Jonathan Singh and Kristina Plush. It's the first song and title track from their upcoming EP which releases later this year. They share that the name Citylovemusic means to be a city on a hill, to love God and His people, and to make music that reflects Christ.
"Our mission as musicians is to make music that breaks cultural barriers," Jonathan and Kristina state. "We want to write songs that all people can worship to. Our songs are kind of like gumbo soup - you're going to get a little of everything!" "Nearer To You" was inspired by James 4:8, which says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to You." Jonathan and Kristina comment, "As we reflect on the many changes happenings around the world, the one thing that always stays constant is God. This song talks about Him being our protector, our comforter, and how we will not lose hope. We will trust in Him through it all. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is the Great I Am." It offers a great message of hope and reminds believers to put their trust in the One who is always faithful.
