GRAMMY and Dove Award nominated worship duo All Sons and Daughters has released a brand new single entitled "I Surrender." It's the first single from their upcoming album, Poets and Saints, which was inspired by the lives of those who have served God throughout history and releases in September along with a companion book and small group study guide. "I Surrender" drew its inspiration from the life of Saint Francis of Assisi. David Leonard and Leslie Jordan write, "Last Summer, we visited Assisi, Italy. We found ourselves on cobblestone streets drinking in the life of Saint Francis. As the local rich kid with serious father wounds, Francis was destined for a life of wealth and trouble. After multiple roadblocks and encounters with God, Francis found himself on a very different journey. And when God asked him to leave his old life behind for the sake of the Kingdom, he surrendered everything."
"I Surrender" reflects upon this theme as it opens with the recognition of the temporal nature of the things of this world and the realization that it is in Jesus that we find true worth. The chorus offers a simple, yet meaningful declaration, "I surrender, I surrender, I surrender all to You," while the bridge goes on to emphasize the sufficiency of Christ and a complete willingness for Him to be our everything, "Not my will but Yours be done. Not my strength but Yours alone. Nothing else but You oh Lord. I find everything in You."
