Vineyard Records UK has just released a brand new studio album called Open. This new project follows up on the critically-acclaimed 2015 release Waterfalls and features 5 new tracks as well as special re-workings of recent Vineyard favorites. Vineyard Records UK General Manager Jimmy Cooke says, "This is an exciting season for Vineyard Records UK. We were so encouraged by the success of Waterfalls and we wanted to follow up with an equally engaging project. Open takes us to a new level, with songs that we hope will be sung in churches throughout the UK and beyond.”
The album's title track, "Open" is an intensely powerful song that reminds us of the possibilities available to us when we take God at His word. With a sense of great urgency, the song entreats, "Come and glorify, see the risen King. Come and glorify, put your hope in Him. Heaven's door is open!" "All Who Are Weary" recognizes that Jesus has come for all of us and longs to draw the weary into His arms. Rejoicing in the hope He has brought to us all, the chorus encourages, "All who are weary, come to the foot of the cross where our Savior hung. All who are weary, come to the foot of the cross, to the foot of the cross." With a pulsing dance-praise beat, "Living in the Light" acknowledges the purpose God has for our lives and proclaims a desire to follow in His paths, "I wanna be living in the light, I wanna be alive in the light. Not lost in the dark or a slave to the night."
Open has a great modern style and it integrates synths and electronic sounds into many of the songs to create a nice atmosphere that is fresh and dynamic. Jimmy adds, "What excites us is that the songs being produced are fresh, but at the same time are true to what people have come to love about Vineyard UK’s music - intimacy, lyrical depth, and a real sense of being breathed by the Holy Spirit.”
