Jesus Culture came together organically in 1999 through the momentum of a movement that was passionate about seeing a generation transform society. It's aim was to equip people to do so by bringing them into a life-changing encounter with God's love through worship and discipling them to minister to the world around them. The band produced their first album in 2005 and now, ten years later, are introducing their first ever compilation album! This Is Jesus Culture features twelve of Jesus Culture's most influential and impactful songs within the church including two brand new live recordings, "Agnus Dei" and "Show Me Your Glory."
The album showcases favorites from Come Away, Unstoppable Love, Your Love Never Fails, We Cry Out, and Live From New York. One of the new tracks being released, "Agnus Dei," is a great worship anthem led by Chris Quilala. It begins softly, continuing to build as it opens up and gives opportunity for spontaneous worship and praise, all the while repeating the exaltation, "You are holy, holy, are You Lord God Almighty. Worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb, You are holy." Kim Walker-Smith also brings us a new version of "Show Me Your Glory." Referencing the words of Moses in Genesis 33, it invites God to reveal Himself and expresses a deep longing for an intimate encounter with Him. Capturing the Father's awesomeness and beauty, it declares, "I long to look on the face of the One that I love, Long to stay in Your presence, it's where I belong." It's both reverent and joyful, reflecting a heart that is passionate for Him.
Jesus Culture plans to continue to release music that will bring people to a place where they can encounter God. They state, "Our primary objective is to be with God — and worship is at the core of intimacy. We are compelled to bring a generation into the Lord’s presence, where they will experience His love and be healed and regenerated. Worship is touching God and exalting His name. This is the foundation of who we are; we are worshippers."
