Minneapolis-based worship band, River Valley Worship, has released their new worship album, Edge of Heaven. It was recorded live at River Valley Church's Shakopee Campus in September and contains 11 incredible new songs for the church. Lead Worship Pastor Ryan Williams shares, "This album carries with it a holy tension. As believers, we know that we're here with the presence of God and there's a fullness to that, but there's this tension because we know this isn't our home. It's just a glimpse. It's a glimpse of what's ahead of us on the other side of eternity."
The title track, "Edge of Heaven" reflects this tension with great anticipation for it recognizes that this life is not the end. Knowing that one day Jesus will return, we wait and keep our faith and trust in Him, "Here we are living on the edge of Heaven, clinging to Your holy presence. We're longing to be where You are. Here we are lifting holy hands to Heaven, we will sing Your praise forever. Longing to be where You are." It's a powerful anthem that expresses a deep longing for God's presence and a willingness to lay everything aside for Jesus. "I Am Healed" is a faithful declaration of God's healing power, claiming the authority of Jesus' name over sickness, darkness, and chaos. It firmly asserts, "I am healed, I know I am. For my God says I am. Come what may, my faith will stand. I am healed, I know I am." "No Wonder (Roar of the Rugged Cross)" revisits the Cross and worships Jesus for His sacrifice and His triumph over death. It rejoices in the way He has redeemed us and fervently praises, "See the light tear through the darkness, hear the roar of the rugged cross, Jesus Christ, you alone have saved us. We worship you now!"
