MultiTracks are now available from Joy Has Dawned by Seattle-based alternative worship band, Kings Kaleidoscope. This 5 song Christmas EP was originally released in 2012 and has re-released with BEC Recordings today. It tells the epic story of Christ's birth; the glorious, mind-blowing mystery of God becoming man to save the world. "The Christmas story we sought to tell is about God demonstrating abundant humility to save unworthy sinners and bring them into an unshakable kingdom," explains band member Chad Gardner. "Jesus, who spoke creation into existence, left his throne in heaven and humbled himself, coming to earth to live and die as a man in order to pay for the sins of the world and to reconcile man to God."
The EP opens up with a new take on the classic hymn by Charles Wesley, "Come Thou Long Expected Jesus." The feel of the song is as anticipatory as the lyrics which reflect a cry of longing for coming of the Messiah. "O Holy Night" focuses on the night of the Savior's birth. The band utilizes a mix of orchestral elements, bringing a nice richness to the Christmas favorite. "Joy Has Dawned" is a modern hymn by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend that celebrates Jesus' coming, rejoicing, "What a savior what a friend, What a glorious mystery. Once a babe in Bethlehem, Now the Lord of history."
Worshippers will love Kings Kaleidoscope's version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" which invites all people to come and bring all our adoration to the newborn king. The EP closes with "All Glory Be To Christ" which was written by Dustin Kensrue and is set to the tune of Auld Lang Syne. The song recognizes that our lives on Earth are short, but Jesus' life, death and resurrection secure for us an eternal home with Him in Heaven. It praises, "All glory be to Christ our king! All glory be to Christ! His rule and reign we’ll ever sing, all glory be to Christ!"
Chad concludes, "Our prayer is that this album would be an encouragement and reminder of the love God has for you this season. He sent his only Son, Jesus, to die for us and rise again, reconciling us to God for eternity. That’s what Christmas is all about. That’s what this EP is all about."
