Dead Man Walking is the full-length label debut of singer and songwriter John Tibbs. This new album is filled with hearty, ear-grabbing melodies and honest, autobiographical lyrics that reach listeners with their authenticity. "My hope is that I can create music that connects people to Jesus – both Christians and those who may not identify with Christianity," John comments. "I want to make music that moves people, and I hope that it honors God."
We are pleased to bring you the MultiTracks for three new songs from this release. "Hope" is a joyous anthem that celebrates God's promises. It recognizes the hope that Jesus' death and resurrection brought to the world, "We have a reason to love. We have a promise of home cause you carried our cross and you stood in our place, we have a reason to hope." "Run Wild" is a fun and rocky track that passionately surrenders everything to God and invites Him to completely transform our hearts and to run wild in our souls.
One song that holds deep personal significance to John is "Everything I Need," due to his struggle with a lifelong speech impairment. “The song says, ‘Though my weakness ties my tongue, I sing of every good You’ve done.’ It is exhausting to try to hide something,” he shares of the issue he managed to conceal for many years. “Culture says you have to be perfect and have all the answers, but that isn’t a healthy attitude. I started being open about my speech difficulties in hopes that it would encourage other people. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’ All of us have our struggles, but our God is active in everything.” Recognizing His sufficiency, the song praises, "I will tell the mountain to be cast into the sea. I will see You when the oceans roar and know Your perfect peace. As I cry out from the desert, living waters rise in me. No, I will not fear. You are everything I need."
