EastLake Music has been writing and recording original music for the past several years, producing authentic songs that speak of defeats as well as victories. Their latest release, A Million Miles, reflects the heart of what Seattle-based EastLake Church is hoping to communicate to the world - that there is a good God who loves us as we are.
"Writing On The Walls" offers up a cry to God for help, redemption, and forgiveness. It expresses our deep need for Him as it tenderly worships, "Oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, we’ll keep writing on the walls of a love that comes to free us, free us from it all. Oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, You’re the liberating King when the night caves in around us, be the still in me." With music that is carried by piano and padded with strings and vocals that expand and layer upon each other as the song progresses, the song is both rich in sound and reverent in essence. "A Million Miles" captures the beautiful awesomeness of God and the evidence of Him found all around us. It opens up with a quiet intensity, building steadily all the while praising the fact that He will never leave us, "Oh, I can't run. I can't run, I can't hide away from You." "Live In Joy / Hope In Love" encourages us to find our rest in God and to reflect His light to those around us as we love and pray for them. It has a simple, lyrical sound and a genuine message of how we should live, "Live in joy, hope in love, find your rest in kingdom come. Cast your burdens far away and trust that Jesus Christ is strong enough to save."
