By Declaration & the Death is the brand new album from Birmingham, Alabama based singer and songwriter, John Ball. With influences ranging from Phil Wickham and John Mark McMillan to U2 and Bruce Springsteen, John's sound is a mold of thoughtful songwriting and anthemic rock inspired by a desire to create sincere, moving and passionate music.
"I Feel It" was the first single John released from this new project. It encourages believers not to hide or remain silent in their struggles, but to embrace Christ in all their weakness and to depend on His strength and grace. John shares, "In the current culture of Christianity, so many times we are told to stuff our feelings and hide our imperfections, when in reality the whole point of our faith is that we are messed up beings made whole by a perfect God." The album's title track, "By Declaration & the Death" is a great anthem for the Easter season as it rejoices in God's grace and shares the good news of Jesus' triumph on the cross. With a hymn-like quality and a celebratory feel, the song testifies of the freedom we have gained by God's decree and through Christ's death and resurrection, "You, You claimed freedom with Your final breath. You lifted Your voice and You hung Your head. You, You claimed freedom with Your final breath, by declaration and the death!" "Satisfy" intimately praises Jesus for His sufficiency and recognizes that He is all we need. The chorus is full of adoration and it offers the heartfelt declaration, "Yeah You, You are all I need. Yeah You, You satisfy me!"
