MultiTracks are now available from Kings Kaleidoscope's 2012 EP, Asaph's Arrows. Named for a man who was commissioned by King David to minister in the tabernacle to extol, thank, and praise the Lord, this EP of classic and modern hymn arrangements encourages worshippers to follow in Asaph's footsteps and lift up their praise to God.
The 10-member band includes strings, brass, and other orchestral elements in their music, bringing a unique sound to the release. "Come Thou Fount" opens up simply, layering in different sounds as the song progresses with the music richly expanding and then pulling back to allow the vocals to shine through to the end. With warm strings, a nice groove, and interludes of brass between the verses, "In Christ Alone" details the life of Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, growing powerful as it proclaims His triumph, "Then bursting forth in glorious, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ." "Jesus Paid It All" is a gorgeous string and piano-driven ballad that is slower and more introspective than the other songs on the EP and includes the modern chorus, "Oh praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead!" Worshippers will love the arrangements of each of these songs in which classical and modern funk sounds are paired with the lyrics they are so familiar with.
