CATEGORIES: News, Home Page
Northern Irish celebration band Rend Collective rings in the Christmas season with their fun and folky Christmas album, Campfire Christmas, Vol. 1.  In this release, they draw from their Irish roots and put their own spin on such Christmas favorites as "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "Joy To The World," creatively rendering new versions that worshippers will love.  "We called this album Campfire Christmas because that's what Christmas is," the band explains, "-an invitation into the family of God, to come and feel the glow. And though the world may be stinging and cold, we find warmth and hope at Christmas: our shining light of the world, our joy and peace, Jesus the Messiah." Rend Collective shares a joyful and fast-paced version of "Ding Dong Merrily On High (The Celebration's Starting)."  This fun arrangement will have people dancing with its jig-like beat and celebratory air.  "Joy To The World (You Are My Joy)" has a more Southern feel to it, mixing in the refrain, "Joy joy joy, You are my joy, joy joy" throughout the familiar carol.  It truly captures a spirit of the song, inviting everyone to let loose and rejoice, singing praises to the One who is the true reason we celebrate. "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (Glory In The Highest)" is another great arrangement of a beloved classic.  This new rendition rejoices in the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with lots of energy and an expansive sound, "Oh glory in the Highest! Our God is come to save us. Emmanuel is with us." If you're looking for a new take on these traditional carols with a more organic sound, you'll definitely want to check out Campfire Christmas, Vol. 1.  Download it today on iTunes.  We will continue to add more MultiTracks from this album throughout the week, so check back if your favorite is not yet on the site.
