Kansas City, Missouri-based worship leader Dustin Smith has released his newest single "We Are Warriors," issuing a powerful call for the church to become who it was destined to be and to stand up and stand firm in any situation. Quoting a line from the song, Dustin comments, “'Where are the risk takers, where are the history makers, where are the world changers?' In a world where fear and terrorism takes center stage, where are the warriors who stand up for God? I believe we are a fulfilment of that.”
"We Are Warriors" opens with a strong beat that lays a good foundation for the driving vocals and instrumentation. The song examines the way we can triumph over the strongholds of this world with God on our side if we realize what He calls us to do and make the choice to rise up and take a stand for what is right. The chorus declares, "With God victorious, with God inside of us, we'll rise up from the dust. We are warriors. With fire in our eyes, with healing in our hands, with power we will stand. We are warriors."
“The Bible says the weapons that we fight with are not of this world but they are powerful to demolish strongholds and pretentions that set themselves up against the knowledge of God” says Dustin. “This implies we are to fight, and that we are in a fight. Christianity has become passive when we are called to be the victors, but God is raising up a generation with the attitude of warriors. We are to bring peace to chaos, healing to the sick, life to the dead and hope to the hopeless. It’s not because we ourselves are strong but because we are attached to the One who is the strongest!”
