Beautiful Surrender is Jonathan David and Melissa Helser's eighth recording and first studio release as part of the Bethel Music Artist Collective. The Helsers are well-known for their Dove Award nominated single "No Longer Slaves" and with this new album, they invite listeners to find the joy in what it truly means to surrender everything to God. "Surrender is to cease resistance, yield control and give oneself up to the power of another. When you find the One your heart loves, surrender is a beautiful, effortless fall - not a duty or a task,” the couple shares. “When Jesus said 'follow me,' they saw everything they ever wanted and joyfully surrendered all they had. What would it look like to truly surrender without reservation, without caution, and give in fully not to an idea of God, but to God himself?" "So Much Grace" is a tender worship anthem that marvels at the grace of Jesus. It tells of how He has freed us from our sin and shows us His endless mercy and love as He seeks to make us whole again. The chorus embeds a simple truth in the heart of worshippers, "There's so much grace," as the bridge goes on to praise His constancy, declaring "I could run for all my days but I'd never run away. There's no mistake I could make that could ever make You change." "You Came (Lazarus)" speaks of the miracles Jesus works in our lives, restoring us back to life and renewing our faith. With a piano-led and driving sound, the song rejoices in His faithfulness, singing "You came, I knew that You would come. You sang, my heart it woke up. I'm not afraid, I see Your face, I am alive. You came, I knew that You would come." "First Love" utilizes beautiful imagery to express the depth of God's perfect love. It emphasizes that there is nothing that we can do to earn this love. It is freely given and we have to just surrender ourselves and fall into Him.
