Australian worship band Dreamlife Worship has a heart to write and share songs that are a joy to sing and that bring their focus to God. Their hope is that their music would be used as a tool and an avenue by which the name of Jesus would be lifted up. They have released their first single, "He Is Risen," just in time for Easter.
"He Is Risen" was written in 2014 for the team's Easter Sunday Service at Dreamlife Church in Perth, Western Australia, though the song can be sung year-round. It possesses a fun, celebratory sound and lots of energy, combining synths and electric guitars with lyrics that share the good news that Jesus is alive. Rejoicing in Jesus' victory, it declares, “Death is conquered, Love has won, The grave defeated, Overcome, Jesus Christ, God’s own Son lives inside of me.” The team shares, "This is powerful as we believe Jesus rose back to life and many saw him. We believe He is still alive and moving in and through those who follow Him with that same power." Lifting the faith and hearts of those who sing it, "He Is Risen" truly captures the joy of the resurrection.
