This week, we are excited to feature For This Purpose, the newest live album from Southeastern University's SEU Worship as our Indie Showcase. The album was recorded by the worship collective last November at the Polk Theatre in downtown Lakeland, Florida and features a number of guests artists including Luke Breton Van Groll, DawnCheré Wilkerson, Joel & Amy Davis, and Micah Massey of 10,000 Fathers.
"Altar" speaks of bringing all that we are and relinquishing it at the altar of Christ. With great adoration, it praises God's greatness and recognizes the fullness of a life lived in surrender to Him. The chorus reflects this devotion, worshipping, "Here I give my everything surrendered at the altar of my king. For I am His and He is mine, oh I know that He will never leave my side. He will never leave my side." "Caught Up" is another gorgeous anthem that praises Jesus' great love, worshipping Him as our hope, our comfort, our refuge and strength. The song draws from Psalm 139, reverently proclaiming, "There's no place I could run from Your presence. There's nowhere I could hide from Your love. There's no place I could run from Your presence. It's enough, it's enough." The title track, "For This Purpose" expresses a deep longing for the Savior and a desire to center our lives around Him. It recognizes our purpose is to glorify Him, praising Him for all He has done, "In this moment I'm alive. In this moment I've found life here in Your arms, here in Your arms. For Your glory I will give, for this purpose I will live to lift You up, to lift You up."
