This week, we are featuring the latest release from worship leader Jonathan Singh as our Indie Showcase. This new album, City Love Music, focuses on Jesus' teachings in Matthew 5:14-16. "City Love Music means to be a City on a hill," Jonathan explains. "To Love God, Love People, and to make Music that inspires. It has now become my mission statement. So many people have been broken including myself but God can always put us back together. I hope you are blessed by these songs and they encourage you in a positive way."
City Love Music blends a modern pop style with meaningful lyrics that are both uplifting and worshipful. Jonathan has been leading "Nothing Worth More" with his own congregation and has had a powerful response. The song comes full circle, beginning and ending with soft reverence, with greater intensity in the middle. It repeats a simple phrase throughout, "There's nothing more. It's your name will adore. Your love gives me life. Jesus, I will run to You," emphasizing our devotion in all circumstances. "Alive Forevermore" testifies to Jesus' greatness and rejoices that He is alive forevermore. The song starts off with a low-key ambient atmosphere but builds and layers in different elements and sounds as it leads to a joyful proclamation that He is alive in us. "You Stay" recognizes that no matter how we might stray, God never stops loving us. It rejoices that "No matter what comes, no matter what goes. When I lose my way, Lord You stay. Lord You stay."
