Heights Music is a worship ministry based out of a local church in Citrus Heights, California. For the past 2 years, Heights Music has been on a journey to start writing their own songs, determined to capture and tell the honest story of their church community. Heights Music is made of worshipers that are hungry to change the world with The Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have just released their first album Father of Hope.
From the beginning of the songwriting process, the members of Heights Music have fought to pursue a journalist approach to songwriting. Producer/songwriter Brett Miller says, “I am deeply proud of this album. Not because we have a catchy, perfect record but because I am transported into the simple yet magnificent truth of the Gospel when I hear these songs. We took our time crafting every lyric to ensure we spoke the honest truth. What you hear on this album are broken people crying out to a very, very good God.” Heights Music fully funded this album alongside their community in Citrus Heights, CA. What began as a spirit-lead conversation around a table began to flourish into a local church singing their story. Worship pastor/songwriter Serge Moskalets says, “I will never forget the writing session that birthed the chorus of “I Believe.” We wanted to write a song that took the worshiper back into the promises God already spoke into existence from the beginning. The line “I will place my hope in what you said from the beginning, I will not forget your promise in the waiting” breathed life into our souls even in its raw state. He is faithful yesterday, today and forever.”
