Crossroads Music shares with us the story behind their newest album Anchored.
"Quarantine has forced all of us to be creative in ways we had never before considered. For us, that meant moving our services to television, which musically presented us a new dynamic of needing all original music or songs in 'public domain' in order to not blow the budget paying for music licenses. That's not a poetic story, but it's a real one. And so began our team brainstorming ways to have fresh worship for our community during this time. We landed on creating mashups of our own original music with classic hymns that we all know and love. It really brought fresh life to our songs as well as modern-takes on songs that have been sung for generations. After recording them for services, we believed in them so much we made the decision to release them in a six-song EP and "Anchored" was born. These songs have been very meaningful to our team and our community and we're happy to make them available to our community and the Church of the world as a way to anchor us all in the truth of who God is no matter the darkness we are seeing or experiencing around us."
