"Halls of Heaven" - Guest Blog by Chris Quilala Friday, June 30, 2017 "Halls of Heaven" is the first new single from Jesus Culture's upcoming album, Love Has a Name, which releases August 11. Worship leader Chris Quilala gives us a little background on the song in this guest post. The song “Halls of Heaven” was written with my friends Josh Silverberg and Ricky and Ran Jackson. The theme of the song comes from Matthew 18, where the disciples asked Jesus who would be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven, and Jesus shocks them by saying, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” I love that picture! Jesus tells them it isn’t the person who has it all together that will be the greatest in the Kingdom, it’s the person who knows how loved they are, and who is unafraid to come to the Father with the boldness of a child. Being a dad myself, I love that my kids know they can come to me at any time, and it gives me joy to hear whatever they want to tell me. Every morning they come bounding into our room to tell my wife and I their dreams and thoughts. What's so incredible, is that’s how the Lord sees us. He is delighted when we come to him with no reservation or hesitation. I believe that’s how we should come into the presence of God, joyful, unafraid, and unashamed, like children who know how much they’re loved. We tried to capture that joyful, lighthearted feel in the music of the song as well, and I think it really expresses the lyrics in a fun way. Writing upbeat songs can sometimes be a challenge, but I think the theme of the song just naturally led us into a melody and groove that translates well for congregational worship. I hope when people sing and play this song they experience the joy that comes from His presence. -Chris Quilala

New Single from Victory Worship - "Safe" Thursday, June 29, 2017 Filipino worship band Victory Worship recently released a new single titled "Safe," coming on the heels of a number of turbulent events that rocked their country. The band shares, "'Safe' arrived at the height of all this tension and served as a welcome balm for God's people reeling from the disasters happening around them. Many were encouraged by the inspiration provided the song by Psalm 91:1-2, which says, "he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”In the midst of all the turmoil, it was a blessing to be reminded that God is a refuge, and that those who trust in Him will be kept safe." This song will serve as an encouragement to believers everywhere as it reminds us of the hope and peace we find in Christ. Download your copy of "Safe" today, now available on iTunes.

New from Red Letter Hymnal - Coastal Kids Friday, June 23, 2017 Coastal Kids is the brand new album from Pittsburgh-based worship band Red Letter Hymnal, that presents a message of complete faith and dependence on God through honest lyrics and an engaging pop sound. Band member Spencer Te'o explains, "We as Christians know that our goal is to trust God in every avenue of our lives, but if you've lived on earth long enough you'll quickly find out that's a lot easier said than done." The name, Coastal Kids, came from the band's calling to follow where God was leading them, which evoked feelings of both excitement and fear. Spencer shares, "The imagery of a bunch of kids standing on the coast staring out at what seems like an unconquerable force, and believing that somehow, or some way God will gets us to the other side. That is exactly how we felt. In that moment we became "Coastal Kids" which was more about our faith in God than it was about our geographical location." Check out this new album today, which includes tracks such as "I'm With You," a testimony of God's grace and a bold declaration that we will live our lives for Him, and "He Lifts You Up" which encourages people to look to the One who loves us and is there when we need Him most. Coastal Kids is now available iTunes. Download your copy today!
