Biography

Growing up as a church kid in Southern California, Ethan Hulse learned early in his childhood that creating songs for the masses was simply a part of his DNA. Even as a shy 10 year-old, Ethan discovered a confidence-building superpower, of sorts, as he began leading entire congregations in worship while most of his peers spent their mornings in Sunday school.
After serving as a worship leader for eight years at Mariner!s Church in Irvine,
CA, Ethan and his then-newlywed wife Erin answered an urge to take a risk and
restart life as a full-time songwriter in Nashville, TN in 2015. Though he didn!t
anticipate doors opening so quickly, Ethan signed a deal with Essential Publish- ing a year after his move and soon later, joined forces with Zach Williams and
Colby Wedgeworth to write Williams!"#Old Church Choir,” which topped the Bill- board Christian Airplay chart for an astounding 21 weeks.
The 2021 NSAI Songwriter of the Year Award recipient and winner of BMI!s prestigious Songwriter of the Year award the past three years in a row, Ethan
has amassed seven Billboard No.1 singles since 2016, including three in the past calendar year: CAIN!s #Rise Up (Lazarus),” Andrew Ripp!s #Jericho” and
most recently, Jeremy Camp!s #Out of My Hands.” He has garnered three
GRAMMY nominations and a Dove Award (Best Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Old Church Choir”). His songs have also received place- ment on a variety of TV programs, including Dancing With the Stars, American
Ninja Warrior and America!s Got Talent.
Ethan and Erin live in East Nashville with their toddler son Porter, where they can be found paddle boarding local lakes, binge-watching TV shows and enjoy- ing evening walks throughout their neighborhood parks.
