"What does it look like to worship in the process of growth, love, pain, healing?" Bethel Music artist, Steffany Gretzinger, sought to answer this question in her first album, The Undoing. Written during a season full of changes and new experiences, she sat down one day at her piano and began to talk to God, telling Him, "I'm so undone by You." He responded to her that "all of life, all of this life you're living is the undoing until one day, face to face with Me, you'll be completely undone." She realized that life was about the process and the journey, experiencing the day to day when no one was watching, and learning to worship through it all. The Undoing is a collection of songs about this process, some born out of spontaneous worship and personal prayers, and others written for friends.
Rich in melody and truth, "Constant One" reminds us of how God is constant in our lives, proclaiming that "In the valleys and on the mountains, I'm always in Your hands." His love is endless and He is merciful and faithful. Full of atmospheric vocals and instrumentation, "Steady Heart" is a duet between Steffany and Bethel Music's Amanda Cook and speaks about trusting in God no matter what, encouraging us with a "Steady heart that keeps on going, Steady love that keeps on hoping, lead me on. Steady grace that keeps forgiving, Steady faith that keeps believing, lead me on." "Getting There" really sums up the overriding theme of the album, speaking of the journey we undertake in life as we walk with God: "And we're getting there. We're determined to discover all that you have hidden for us along the way. And we're getting there and Your presence is the promise there is nothing that can stop us. We're on our way."
