Worship leader, Dustin Smith, has always had a desire to see the nations ignited with a passion for worship. His latest release, Coming Alive, was recorded live at his home church in Kansas City, Missouri, and captures a spirit of revival through songs that declare that the Lord alone is worthy of praise. Smith comments, "We're not writing songs to make better church services. I couldn't care less about that. We're not interested in chasing radio. It's the heart of God we're chasing. There really is a generation that is seeking something real, something raw and not super polished, something that meets them in their desperate seasons, gives voice to their brokenness and reminds them that God is right there in it with them."
The album opens with "Coming Alive," which is a call for all people to respond to the ways God has worked in our lives, freeing us and showering us with His goodness and love. "Who Is Like Our God" is a powerful anthem that encourages us to remember all God has done and how majestic and glorious He is. After listing His characteristics and repeatedly asking "Who is like our God," the song ultimately declares, "No one above Him, beside Him, There’s no one like our God!" "Extravagant Love" is full of awe and wonder for the way Jesus freely came down from Heaven to walk this earth and die for our sins because of His great love for us. It invites all to worship Him, singing, "Oh Lamb of God, You gave it all. We are nothing but dust yet You pour out on us Your extravagant love." The album closes with "Be Exalted (In The Dust)," in which we lay all that we are before God, recognizing that every triumph in our life and every situation we've overcome is because of Him alone. The album looks upward, worshiping a God who deserves nothing less our highest praise.
